ME3: Extended Cut Analyais Part 6

Here we look at the many, many types of problems of the Synthesis Ending to the Extended Cut DLC from Mass Effect 3, ranging from science, logic, lore, grammar and ...well, just about everything, really.  The Stupid is strong in this one.

Took way too long for me to do this, considering the actual length.  There was many a drinking, game playing and sleeping in attempting to write for it.

I do have another Smudboy Smash coming up, so hopefully that'll be posted soon.

  5. Sorry for the deleted comments, typed too quickly and didn't check the spelling errors (or finish watching some relevant videos) before I posted. The problem of posting during work!

I just want to say that I'm an adjunct professor who teaches classics and ancient history in New Jersey and I have to compliment you on basically setting up an Aristotelian critique of the Mass Effect games, as well as pointing out that Bioware tried to play on the player's emotions via melodrama cutscenes, hoping that somehow the player wouldn't use their reason to say "What was that?" (and the example of the fangirl in part 1 of this critique, simply happy that she got an "I love you...or something" from Kaidan, shows that Bioware got away with fooling some people some of the time.

Got Citadel DLC as a gift from a friend for my birthday. Haven't played it yet. Will tell you how it is if you want to spare yourself some pain and can't be asked to play it.

    1. No worries, thanks for your feedback, and the video link.

Not too many people like analytics, but the few who do, get it.

  6. Thanks for responding. Have also gone out on a limb and have downloaded the Happy Ending Mod done by an indie guy. Evidently it has some bugs but I've read that it at least gets rid of the-kid-who-lost-out-on-being-the-Ring-villain and the false choice that you get at the end of the Extended Cut DLC. Hopefully it won't blow up my Mass Effect 3 installation, but it's not like it can get any worse.

Seriously, when I chose to install this I had memories of installing Baldur's Gate 2 mods. Again, as with Citadel will let you know my opinion. Am watching your newest post so far and think it's quite good. Regards and all that.
